Menurut United Nations Human Rights Office<\/em>, sekurang-kurangnya 170 negara<\/strong> daripada 193 negara anggota PBB tidak menggunakan hukuman mati atau telah memperkenalkan moratorium terhadap hukuman tersebut, sama ada dalam undang-undang mahupun amalan. Harm Reduction International<\/em> (HRI) pula menyatakan bahawa 35 negara dan wilayah<\/strong> masih mengekalkan hukuman mati untuk kesalahan berkaitan dadah. Pada 2022, 285 orang<\/strong> telah dihukum mati di seluruh dunia atas kesalahan berkaitan dadah (termasuk di China, Vietnam, dan Korea Utara).Badan-badan antarabangsa telah menjelaskan bahawa hukuman mati tiada tempat atas nama keadilan dan menggalakkan pemansuhan hukuman tersebut di peringkat universal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pada tahun 2022, Papua New Guinea, Republik Afrika Tengah, Equatorial Guinea, dan Zambia telah memansuhkan hukuman mati untuk semua jenayah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
